Go to /sffg/, faggot. It has the Mega link with over 6 thousand charts, including those for tranime - the ones you obviously crave the most.
There's also a /lit/ wiki page somewhere, perhaps even in the sticky, you gluey cumball of snot.

I usually am.
Perhaps op desperately wants human interaction at any cost, so he created the thread more for discussion the charts would generate. But this was an incredibly lazy and uncreative decision, which got him rightfully labeled a gluey cumball. Perhaps I have a dumb thread fatigue.

People vote for what they read. Perhaps they were memed into reading it by the constant Stoner spam and liked it because it's a good book. Idk, haven't read yet

That 2022 chart is probably (most likely) a 2018 one. To put things into perspective, the 2017 chart has Finnegan's Wake at #30 with 10 votes. One of 2020 ones - #62 with 6 votes. Clockwork - 4 votes. 2021 - both 7.
Doesn't matter which was read more. It's about what people consider more important, /lit/-worthy, elitist, and what was memed about at the time. Factor in troll voters too.

Has the majority of this board really read Moby Dick that much? don't misunderstand me, it's a fantastic novel, but I'm surprised it gets #1 place so often. Is this some sort of elaborate troll?

>> No.22082763

>>22082614
Majority has probably read 10-15 out of any top100, simply because many books are unavoidable for any semi-regular reader. Some books have that cultist "classic" status that you're supposed to agree with or you have no literary taste - Moby Dick among them. Some are also required reading for ameritards, look at Heart of Darkness on Goodreads - almost half a million votes (close to MD) with an abysmal 3.4 rating (like MD). It's obvious that people and women are being forced to read both of these against their will. But with that amount of readers there will be many people who'd consider those books very good or masterpieces.

We didn't study the whale book in school, and I hadn't even finished whatever Hemingway stuff we were reading (Old man, probably) - felt boring. Never knew about J.Conrad until /lit/, then saw it in a library, read and liked it. Might've disliked it instead, were I forced to read it at the age of 15.

So the charts are mostly influenced by whatever americans read and consider to be classic and highly intellectual. Also, pseuds would likely feel very bad (or even fear to be laughed at) for not liking such important works. So they'd convince themselves of the opposite and include MD or some other trendy lit book in their yearly top5. Trolls are surely at play here too - Mein Kampf, the bible, Infinite Jest, the usual stuff.

Unsurprising, since most avid reddit haters are latent redditors themselves, and many other fine literary gentlemen would never deprive a public vote of valuable input from their undisputed genius.

Someone named Bookie did one a year ago. But he kept seetheing that books he didn’t like kept getting voted on. Call of the Crocodile, Mein Kampf and a bunch of edgy manifestos won. But the guy snubbed everything interesting and just added in a bunch of Reddit tier books he liked like Infinite Jest and Blood Meridian and all the usual books you’d see on Reddit lists.
