Don’t. Psychology isn’t real and the psyche is a myth. Body memory is the psyche. There’s no hope.

Man and his symbols then his autobiography. Then start with this chart. However Jung in my opinion is not a thinker you should uncritically absorb. You should pair him with other thinkers . Both modern psychologists, religious scholars, and other philosophers and mystics like Heidegger and Guenon to get the most out of him. I see to many people becoming straight orthodox Jungians when the man himself said none of his followers totally understood his work. But this is just one amateurs opinion feel free to do what you want.

I actually thought about this, jumping straight into The Red Book.
On the one side of course you understand more of it if you have read Jung's previous stuff, but on the other hand I think it might be a very valuable experience to read such a complex and interesting book as a "virgin".
Then later on, of course, reading all of Jung's books and re-reading The Red Book.
Can anyone give some input?

Read The Red Book
Then read his previous work
Reread The Red Book

Probably best to start with the Undiscovered Self and Man and His Symbols. Much of the red book will be lost on you unless you have a strong foundation in his ideas. The Red Book is also very different from his other more scholastic works.

Start with treating your own egotism you megalomaniac. Srsly get a therapist.
Why spawn double threads. Respect and emphaty.

Jung is fun to read though. But let's begin with that he's a pupil of Freud, a disowned one.
I like all that 'collective subconsciousness' mysticism, a thing for women's magazines and dollar store self help books.
He fucks up a lot of genuinly valuable topics though, being a man full of hubris and vanity he is.
Froid is the real thing.
