What's the best translation? I'm trying to read some Hindu primary texts. I didn't like Bhagavad Gita, but I heard the Upanishads are more metaphysical.

Is this the best edition?

Bhagavad Gita is the same as the Upanishads but in a long and pompous novel.
Anyway you can start here

>Principal Upanishads
From my research, it appears to be the translation by Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Also the translation in 4 volumes by Swami Nikolananda.

Also, you can freely read Max Müller's translation here:

Don't read the Upanishads lmfao you're not gonna understand it.

Is it me or Buddhism doesn't make any sense? Once you remove the Self there's no reincarnation, there's no Nirvana, it's just nothingness. They can't have both.

That’s precisely what Nirvana is: the ultimate realization of non-self and the attainment of detachment. Also don’t confuse lack of self with lack of subjectivity. Subjectivity is a natural part of samsara, whereas a sense of an essential or immutable self is an illusion because all is empty, passing, ceasing, transient.

Buddhism is a method not a metaphysics, read Doctrine of Awakening

Your reply didn't address anything I said and I didn't confuse the 2. Nirvana is nothing.

Yes it did, retard. Nirvana is just a designation for this nothingness, and for the Buddha and his followers, this nothingness is preferable to suffering, but this quality is only relational. Nirvana is not like heaven. There are heavens in Buddhism as well but they are not Nirvana.

How can there be heaven if there is no Self? What goes to heaven? Your bundle of thoughts? These only exist while we're alive on this planet with material bodies.

I disallow myself to read any sacred texts built for Hindu eyes.
