Give me books or thoughts about authoritarian systems and flat hierarchies, and who wins in the end.

Yes. If it's not pagans and Christians seething at each other it's retards who want to "Returvn" to the 1950's when the subversion was already underway. Genuine spiritual insight there is very minimal, they're mostly aestheticians. They're already being overrun with ridiculous "trad" egirls who finger-wag at them like typical mammies.

>Why yes the peak of western civilisation was when great corporations had just figured out how to apply psychology to marketing and were actively atomising society by promoting the most efficient, most profitable consumer unit; the new nuclear family. Here's a picture from a literal ad manipulating you into buying a detached house 45 minutes from your place of work
It's bizarre, isn't it.

>> No.21977432

How can anyone deny the mid 50s being the peak of civilization for a specific people (the American People)?
Im not even American, but the absolute wealth and freedom of that era for those people is staggering. Who cares if a couple civil rights issues existed even for them. Quantitively and qualitatively in all forms things were only worse beforehand and became worse since.

Hierarchical structures are frequently inflexible. It is frequently being suggested that the hierarchical organizations slow down timely transformations, which are essential if the organization is to survive in a rapidly changing environment. It is being thought that hierarchies work for standardized processes and they are not useful in dynamic environments. They are slow to react to new opportunities, which frequently need transformative change.

>> No.21977542

Flat organizations have a number of issues. Employees frequently lack a specific boss to report to, which creates confusion and possible power struggles among management. Employees in flat organization structures can also feel more ‘role ambiguity’, within their organizations as employees can be uncertain of job expectations.

In a flat organizational structure, there is very little room for employees to move up. This makes it harder for ambitious employee to find satisfaction. Some employees enjoy working hard toward a promotion, and there is not much opportunity for this in a flat structure.
These organizations tend to produce a lot of generalists but no specialists.

Not the point at all, those romanticising the past simply forget all to often that nothing comes without attached strings and owning a house or a family or having a car doesn't make you happy on its own. Such a lifestyle still requires tremendous amounts of work to uphold which can and often does feel draining and trapping. It is both possible to be happy today and in the 1950's. It is not suddenly all well just because you like the artstyle of the time period better

I literally and unironically had that life in the 80s. It was a beautiful time. The smell of backyard grilling. Dad's homemade barbecue sauce. Neighbors leaning on the fence chewing the fat. Knew the name of every family on the street. Knew the name of every dog on the street! Sitting on the front porch with the old fashioned hand cranked ice cream maker as the stars come out. Radio set to oldies. Pot luck block parties, long folding tables laden with dishes. Street blocked off, games for the tots, big wheel races through the open fire hydrant. Halloween party around the campfire. Dozens of aunts and uncles and cousins on Thanksgiving. Foot-high snow days. The smell of fine clothes and leather gloves as everyone comes to deliver Christmas greetings in their very best dress. The literal jingle of the jingle bells and holly on the front door. Gathering round to watch fuzzy VHS recordings of Peanuts holiday specials. Kids playing on the big pile of ladies' fur coats on the bed in the guest bedroom. Drinking egg nog and spiced cider with just a touch of wine- it's ok, most of the alcohol has probably burned off. Sitting on the couch during those 12 Days toasty and warm in new socks just watching the snow fall.

Yes, the 1950s are the earliest cultural memories they have. Beyond that the 1800s tend to be the hard filter for most people.

It is extremely rare to meet someone who still has the cultural memory of the middle ages or earlier, but in the right locations you can find such people

>American GDP was 50-60% of the world total
>Rest of the world in ruins or a shithole, except America
>US had #1 GDP per capita, #1 life expectancy, #1 healthcare system, #1 education system, #1 standard of living
>US mogged everyone else militarily, including the USSR (it took until the late 60s/70s for the USSR to catch up militarily)
>New wonders abound from rockets to space travel to jets to atomic power to TV to proto-computers
>The perfect balance of technology and tradition
>Peak atompunk aesthetics
>Conservative and traditional elements dominate society

It was the ultimate "US #1 time". I'm sad I didn't get to live through it but at least I got to experience a miniturized version in the 90s

All animals are generally happy or unhappy depending on their environment and their needs. Animals also have outward signs of stress and unfulfillment. I think the average American's life is worse now than in the 50s by most metrics, and yes, even women. Recent psych studies show that women are the least happy people in America. Do you think it's easy for them to fill traditionally male roles with no consideration for their natural tendencies? Why do you think 50% of American women aged 40+ are on taking antidepressants? You think that's a good sign? And what about blacks? A few years ago, they committed the most violent and destructive riots in American history. Did they do that because they're happy? I'd really like to know what you think about the trajectory we're on, and weather you think it's healthy.
