Thesis + antithesis = synthesis

There, you don't need to read Hegel anymore.

Im shocked you made it that far! I find Hegel brilliant. He is out there sure but it’s philosophical writing.

But what is the Hegelian dialectic, if not a desperate attempt to rationalize the irrational, to give a sense to the absurd, to reconcile the irreconcilable? Is it not an illusion to believe that reality has an internal logic, that ideas have a coherence, that contradictions can be solved? Is it not a form of mystification, of domination, of manipulation, to impose a dialectical method on the complexity of the world? Is it not a negation of freedom, of creativity, of individuality, to submit consciousness to a predetermined evolutionary process ?

The Hegelian dialectic is not a universal truth, but a historical, cultural and ideological construction. It reflects the interests, the prejudices, the aspirations and the anxieties of a particular time, that of the European modernity. It expresses the desire of order, of unity, of synthesis, in front of the chaos. It manifests the dream of an ultimate meaning, of an absolute finality, of an encompassing totality, in front of the existential emptiness and brutal nothingness that is the only certain truth. The Hegelian dialectic is thus a fairy tale. A dangerous fiction, an intellectual imposture, a spiritual tyranny. It must be unmasked, deconstructed, overcome. It is outmoded and inadequate for the contemporary human experience. Philosophy had to develop more critical, more creative, more liberating theory that was willing to create its own reality and tear apart the sacred cows rather than submitting to a predetermined fate. That is a quasi religious view in a way. Hegel was sort of this ilk, the obsession with spirit, totality, and an inevitable truth.
