that image is not even close to what modern and so-called post-modern characteristics are.
>1. M: The object of knowledge is grounded for us in our gnoseological and epistemological structures // PM: Technology goes beyond humanism and so humanistic grounding should be re-judged.
>2. M: Object is determined through categories // PM: The gnoseological and epistemological structures need to be accounted genetically

Postmodernism was coined to reffer a historical moment that couldn't be deffined through a modernist worldview. It then ---because americans have always be name-tag-fetichist-consoomers--- became 2 things: 1) Lyotard and others keep using the term postmodernism as a kind of thought as US universities wanted to do in order to exploit content (even if it was a shitty conception like 'anthropocene' and the like); 2) Non US-subjectivated people kept using it as a term that reffers to searching the state of thought after modernist narratives collapsed.

this sounds more like your interpretation that you're trying to make appear generally accepted

>> No.21892270

>>21892251
hermeneutics are basically interpretation or the abstraction of observation of events

>> No.21892313

>>21892251
hermeneutics is interpretation or interpretation within a certain context. so for instance, the first time you read socrates is different from the time you read him after you've been exposed to the broader field of philosophy. it's the same work but your understanding is different than the first time.

what the op's image is trying to express is probably the interpretation of something in a context that is appropriate for the time it was created in. for instance, you wouldn't divorce the study of history from the context and cultural atmosphere belonging to its time. if you read a very loving and sugary letter from one woman to another, you might think that they are gay lovers, but, if you take into account the time's cultural norms, you might find that it's not indicative of a homosexual relation but one of deep affection that is not sexual.

We're not even in 'postmodern' yet, if there is such a thing. Check out Nathan Brown's "Postmodernism? not yet" from I think PMLA or Radical Philosophy a few years ago

>> No.21892856

>>21888160
I'm starting to suspects that hermeneutics doesn't mean anything. Everyone has a different definition and the only common characteristic is that people interpret a thing in different ways. That's not something new.
