But it's the first season of Arrested Development. It's comedic shakespeare.

I already did, I replaced it with a constant stream of content youtube picks for me based on my previous preferences, and to spice it up I also consume anonymous posts on the fourth channel (not television) and entertain myself by crafting replies that either match my real views or completely oppose them.

After having read Bowling Alone, I learned of the dangers of television on social cohesion and vowed to never use a TV again. I still spend 90% of my free time on my phone or computer though.

TV is TikTok now. In fact it's the same idea, it's a constant stream of shit made to eat up your time.

I visited my mum and uncle recently and they both watch TV and read the (physical) newspaper.

I was very late to the party on that show but it really is great. And then I did my typical nerd thing I do with things I enjoy and looked up trivia, behind the scenes info, etc and ended up being impressed by it in a new way. Awesome show.

Someone anon on here said that that was DFWs intention with Infinite Jest. To have it kind of mirror the experience of watching television with all the footnotes and the writing style and whatnot. I'm not sure if that was just that Anons theory or if it's something he saw in an interview or read in a review though. Im also not sure it even makes sense entirely or is plausible. Just sharing something pertinent to your post that I heard.

TV is boomer shit. It's irrelevant to Gen Z, the closest thing for them is streaming from Netflix or anime websites. No one under 50 is still paying for cable or tuning into ABC CBS NBC FOX

>> No.21864196

>>21863800
Yeah, it really was great. And I watched it at time when everything was coming up millhouse for me, so rewatching is bittersweet.

Shame what they did with season 4 on. But that's netflix for you.

Tv usurped the place of the radio. Now it's just painting with changing pictures and some background noise.
You are still watching television. You just don't notice it anymore.
This is specially true to gen Z.
