How do Christians square the extremely unequal circumstances that babies are born into and the fact that broken homes etc are more likely to lead to a life of sin, with the worldview that getting into heaven involves rejecting bad things?

Surely if God created an infinite hell for us to attempt to avoid, he would do us the courtesy of giving everyone a roughly equal chance to avoid sin?
