I always find these threads shit because they don't have any relevance to surviving in the australian outback.

There's not much to say, if you somehow end up lost in the outback in all likelihood you'll either get found quick enough that any survival knowledge you have won't matter, or you'll just die from dehydration or some snake. But if you want some level of prep just in case, get a field guide to flora and to mushrooms, and obviously some basics of building shelter, tying knots, making basic tools and weapons etc. that are applicable to basically any country.

Prep wins every time.

If I was anywhere near the outback I'd not leave my house without:

A good knife for cutting and chopping in a pinch
Small amount of water, a way to get more water (and make it potable)
High calorie long life rations
Lightweight sun poncho or shelter
Way to make fire
