How many converts did Josh Sawyer create?

>> No.21845386

I dunno about actual converts, but I'm friends with a lapsed Mormon guy who recently got around to playing New Vegas for the first time and soon after set his social media pfps to Graham and started studying the Book of Mormon and King James Bible for the first time since he was a kid lmao. It's actually made for some pretty fun religious discourse desu

its funny because josh sawyer made one of THE pieces of media that resulted in creating people who are likely his real world antithesis

Alma is just long, I don't rate it. Ether is my favourite, you get this long aside about a whole other civilisation that stretches right back to the Tower of Babel and already collapsed. Quite fun to read.

Never read The book of Morons, but I enjoyed the South Park episode.

Is Josh Sawyer mormon, and what draws mormons to gaming careers? The authors of the Dragonlance novels are mormon, and a friend of mine, who has a leadership position at a Calvinist church, plays in a D&D game that is run by a mormon.

grew up Mormon read the book cover to cover i think 5 times. i got really into the exegetical debates when i was a teenager and read a few massive tomes of philosophy written by Mormons in defense of their theology.
some of it was interesting but mostly I ended up with a whole lot of useless knowledge. the book is a pretty impressive work of world building and some of the allegories are interesting but treating it like an actual account of the history of any really existing group in the Americas requires some intense mental gymnastics and there's too many convenient excuseses around the translation for me to take it at all seriously. the argument that all these convenient excuses are there so we have to demonstrate faith would make sense but if that's the case then you've conceded that there isn't any evidence for the book's historicity and that god actively prevents evidence of the book's truth
