I'm writing about a very cold place and it has occurred to me that I cannot describe it to a satisfying level.
Any novels about cold, wintry places? Real survival lit works fine too. Bonus points for blizzards and under-equipment.

Non-fiction, but picrel is about the author living with Inuit in northern Canada during the 1930s.

I'll recommend Alive by Piers Paul Read. Imagine spending 10 weeks at 4,500m elevation in winter with no warm clothes or real shelter, and that's not even the worst of your problems.

Haven't read it but surely Lansing's Endurance is a more unbiased and readable account.

I think that you should (if you even can) go to a cold place and write exactly what you are experiencing/feel like.

I'm not a man of words, y'see. Furthermore, I can't really do that because I'm used to the cold, and my character isn't.
