The treasurestore of lit is deeper in continuous age than most other arts if not the most deep, and the things that get people reading older lit aren’t catered to by new popular Lit, and the kind of people reading new popular lit either will mostly be in dedicated generals or not on /lit/

Anything that comes out nowadays is totally garbage; the old stuff is way better and more mature (usually). I think the one big reason why people talk about old literature all the time on here is because the best material ever written can take a long time to truly understand, and a lifetime of discussion in general.
/a/, /mu/, /tv/, /v/ and the other media consuming boards focus on the trendy sort of stuff. You know, stuff that has no weight or any gravitas to anything, which does explain why nothing profound has come from those mediums like movies and video games. You watch a movie, or play a video game, and you toss it into the trash while posting memes, that's it.

I honesty struggle to even consider those mediums art.
