What books should I read in prison?

Just imagine how comfy prison would be if solitary let you have paper, writing implements, and books.

history books since they all build on eachother and it can be a larger project

how hard is it to get specific books? do you have to suck the warden's dick and beg permission to get a single shitty book from the prison library or could your mommy send you things

They do, just look at Kaczynski. He's writing (and publishing) entire books from prison and he is in the highest level of solitary supermax as one of the most notorious serial killers and terrorists in US history. The cells next to him were Timothy McVeigh and one of the world trade center terrorists, who were his buddies during exercise hour.

You can't have anything in solitary in the US. In general pop you can't have anything but approved religious materials, self-help, or social justice/pulp fiction.
There's an extremely small list of approved materials. If it were possible to have Plato, Aristotle, Kant, etc in prison then there would hardly be a reason to be outside prison if you're a NEET.

All of them
I read 3 books a week for years.
Dont read radical political philosophical, religious books too much. especially if its all down the same path. You are more mentally susceptible to persuasion while incarcerated. Also, work out. I went in beerbellied and starting a second chin couldnt run a block or do a pullup. Came out looking like a 6'4 8pack abs greek god. I could run 5 miles, do 700 pushups in an hour and 30 pullups in a row with good form.

Not that anon but:
"Solitary Fitness" by Charles Bronson
"Jailhouse Strong" by Adam Benshea and Josh Bryant
"Convict Conditioning" by Paul Wade

They all boil down to doing hundreds of reps of bodyweight movements like pushups, situps, squats, and chinups. Bronson also had some interesting uses for towels and chairs as workout implements. Some prisons have weightrooms, most do not. As a prisoner you have a lot of time on your hands and not much else to do. If you join a gang (for protection) they may even REQUIRE you to workout with them.

Both
They dont have free weights just machines and cables.
If you get a cool celly you can do a bodyweigh routine in your cell. They also had a small track in the yard.

i actually thought about deliberately donating books that have an implicit political slant to prisons such that any prisoners that did happen to come across the aforementioned books would be radicalised to a cause of my choosing, they’re already in disagreement with the status quo and likely already hold the ruling establishment in disdain

very gay, if anything a prisoner should read neetch so he can becooooom the ramen noodles merchant everybody likes or some shit. reading commie garbage in the slammer will just make a person more resentful about their situation, especially since the chances for communist praxis (which isn't even desirable) are nonexistent. dumb commie frognigger.

Any and all of them. Prison is a reader's paradise. You got nothing to do and all the time in the world to read up. Malcolm X famously taught himself to read and write by copying the entirety of the Oxford dictionary and reading most of the prison library.

In my corner of Yurop the prison libraries most often suck ass, they get assigned a tinies tbudget possible, so mainly rely on getting decomissioned books from civilian libraries, some donations, provate books left by the inmates and whatever was purchased decades ago, when the library was being set up. Goes without saying that most of its is some old normie pop literature, mixed with high school curriculum, self help and religion. Only way to get access to specific books is to get them sent by someone in a package. Packages are a privilege and must not contain things deemed physically dangerous or hindering social rehabilitation, for example by aiding criminal activity, enabling extremism and so on. So the requested literature better be either reasonably wholesome (normie tier vanilla porn is deemed wholesome, except in enhanced security facilities) or esoteric enough that the guard checking the parcel cant really tell what it is about - but shit in Arabic or other tourist/inhuman languages is double checked and witheld until you gonna write a complaint. Having personal books in your cell is also a privilege that can be witheld upon commiting a disciplinary infraction, personal library must be also small enough to fit on the shelf allocated to the inmate. Phones as well as e-readers equipped with card readers and any kind of transceiver are forbidden. TVs and radio sets are wired into internal broadcasting center of the facility. Consoles are allowed only without internet access. PCs only in exceptional cases after obtaining permission from the warden and only with approved and legal software.
That being said majority of inmates are mildly retarded normies more interested in sending them porn magazines, vidyas, cigarettes, spices and candies, than subversive antisemetic chud literature. Then there is also money, which can give many possibilities, at least until there is an external audit incoming.
TLDR: prison life is not good for bibliophiles.
