I don't get why everyone seems to like this book so much. I read it and liked it enough to finish it, but it didn't alter my worldview in the same way other canonized works of literature I have read have and I feel like as far as action goes, Hammet and Chandler seem to just be better at it (I understand they were written 20+years later but still). What am I missing, or am I not missing anything? Are there better Chesterton novels?
