I know it's a shitty industry that recycles the same old garbage but there are unique ones here and there

If you know there are unique ones you wouldn’t be asking us.

Just watch some JBP lectures and you have a modern neo-existentialism philosophy to follow

Ok. Unfortunately this is the worst case for OP. You’re at the library resources counter asking for the equivalent of “recommend me a fiction book”. The librarian will recommend you popular stuff and send you off into the fiction section. We have no idea where the fuck you on the hierarchy of knowledge. We don’t know if you’re a jock, nerd, dweeb, fag, or pretty princess. You have to do your own homework dumbass. Knowledge is built on knowledge. Are you still learning the alphabet or need a better thesaurus to spruce up your poetry?

I don’t think OP is ready to understand the magnificent work of Peterson if he calls him the “lobster guy”. His lect on hierarchy would make no sense to OP unfortunately. He can’t even give us descriptions on what he wants let alone grapple with a thing like social equity! Yet OP is wise enough to seek knowing a place to start. Picrel

Nathaniel Branden - The Six Pillars of Self-Esteem
Only self-help book that I generally recommend, was a game changer for me.

>Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin

It is technically an autobiography but the book iis addressed to his son and is intended as a way for Franklin to impart the lessons he learned in his life by reflecting on his youth and career.

>The Betrayal of the Body
>Fear of Life
Helped me to get out of my head and un-schizo myself. These two books did miracles to me and are not self-help books but a collection of psychiatrical case-studies mixed with ancient thought that all lead up to a satisfying and comprehensible synthesis/solution. I felt a range of emotions I had only in my innocent childhood days but with the awareness and experience of adulthood. First step was to relearn how to breathe into your belly, the second was to relax your whole body, the third to accept your fate and that you may never change who you are nor your circumstances. The fourth is to realize that your fate can only be changed by accepting it; it is the irony of fate. Also restored my faith in God during a dark time of my life. I recommend to read this books while you are isolated socially and only interact with the world after you finished them.

If only you knew how good life can be.

Self-help books are a meme and a waste of time. Read philosophical and religious texts, those will actually help you.

Pic related. I picked it as my bow was turning 1, looking for guidance since things were turning interesting, but there's a lot of stuff in there even if you don't have kids. A lot of lessons on how to forgive yourself for past mistakes as a kid.
