What can be said about the type of person who needs an external piece of paper to save their space in a book, versus a person who simply folds over the page temporarily to save their position?

reddit. I own my book and can do whatever I want with it, I will perhaps never read it more than twice — and if I do, I know exactly where the best places are to start and stop a reading session. I don't have to worry about selling it to little indie book stores, like YOU! Ohohoh

I don't fold pages because it's a habit. Think about books you would want to last a long time. The last thing you would want to do is disturb the pages anymore than you have to.

high test is when you simply have such a big brain that you remember the page you were on

The fold is the ultimate litmus test for whether a person is capable of serf-governing.

Using a bookmark is an easy, convenient task and one which we all recognize as the correct, appropriate thing to do. Using a bookmark is objectively right. There are no situations other than dire emergencies in which a person is not able to use a bookmark. Simultaneously, it is not illegal to fold your pages. Therefore, the fold presents itself as the apex example of whether a person will do what is right without being forced to do it. No one will punish you for folding your pages, no one will fine you or kill you for damaging your books, you gain nothing by using a bookmark. You must use a bookmark out of the goodness of your heart. You must protect your books because it is the right thing to do. Because it is correct.

A person who is unable to do this is no better than an animal, an absolute savage who can only be made to do what is right by threatening them with a law and the force that stands behind it.

The fold is what determines whether a person is a good or bad member of society.

Go read any work of literature made before this pozzed era and they all use "he" as a neutral descriptor for a human (and i actually mean it when i say "go read" it. I know you're gonna try to post some retarded revisionist article from vice or the like, so fuck off). Writing "they" when referring to a single person is fucking retarded, and you should go back.

I prefer bookmarks.
I see folding maybe being more valid when you used to have to cut the pages.

I just memorise the page and have a few decoy bookmarks placed between random pages just in case.
