The whole scene reminds me of the part in the Philosophy of Right where Hegel explains why irony vis-á-vis morality is the final step in which morality is negated into evil.

Of course, these guys aren't big on Hegel's proposed transition to ethical life and duty. For all the talk about tradition, fetishization of old warrior cultures, etc. it is entirely a movement of negative freedom, not unlike the sans-colottes of the French revolution or leftists today who can only tear down, but not build up.
