After meeting the tradcath-LARPer-posters here. It's really transparent with them, always seething with white-hot hatred and taking satanic joy in their impotent visions of people they find disagreeable being tortured forever in a lake of fire. Especially visible in Nietzsche-threads and I am sure this will be no exception.

People like you who talk endlessly about "larpers" as you wallow in the words of a self-hating german schizo who failed to master his own will are the most pathetic people.

Why would anybody listen to a wigger?
>>The prime anti-Western fantasy for our age, however, was expressed by Nietzsche. Two years after hearing the piano score of Wagner's epoch-making opera Tristan and Isolde, Nietzsche made a lifelong commitment to sexual revolution by deliberately infecting himself with syphilis in a Leipzig brothel. Thomas Mann saw in that gesture an act of "demonic consecration." Whatever the motivation, Nietzsche was outraged when Wagner had second thoughts. When Wagner "prostrated himself before the cross" by writing Parsifal, Nietzsche flew into a rage not only against Wagner but against German music and all of Europe as well. Turning his disease-damaged eyes southward, he began to discern what he termed the "lewd melancholy" across the Mediterranean. As an antidote to Wagner's prostration before the cross, Nietzsche discovered Africa. "This music," Nietzsche writes, describing his impression of Bizet's Carmen, "is lively, but its liveliness is neither French nor German. Its liveliness is African. It has this destiny; its happiness is short, sudden, and without pardon. I envy Bizet, therefore, because he has the courage to give impression to this sensibility, a sensibility which up 'til this time had no expression in European music, a more southern, browner, more burned sensibility. ... How the yellow afternoons of this happiness give us pleasure! We look out and believe that we have never seen the sea calmer. And how this moorish dance speaks to us so tranquilly! How even our insatiability learns satiety from its lewd melancholy! Finally we have a love that has been transposed back to nature. Not the love for of some "higher virgin"! No Senta sentimentality! Rather love as fate, as fatality, cynical, without guilt, cruel - and as a result just like nature. That love which is war in its means, and at its basis the deadly hatred of the sexes" [my translation]

-E. Michael Jones "Degenerate Moderns"

Nobody identifies as a "LARPer". That's a category you impose on them because the concept of sincerity is alien to you.

>> No.21677382

Friendly reminder that Nietzsche opened the floodgates to post-modernism with his dumb essay on truth and lies in a nonmoral sense.

You can trace a straight line from Nietzsche to Foucault and Derrida.

It's not that sincerity is alien to any particular anon, it is that sincerity is alien to this place, founded as it is on irreverence and five-thousand layers of meta-irony.
As for our local tradcaths being larpers, it follows quite naturally from the fact that they are here. This place fosters all manners of sins, wrath, sloth, acedia, envy, pride, - indeed, the entire board culture is anathema to the catholic ethos. On being confronted with this, the tradcath larpers realize they are being called out as larpers, and will usually come up with something extremely cringe that doubles down on the larping, like for instance, that they are missionaries here. At that point it becomes transparent that no, it is not in earnest, not sincere at all, it is an identity they've plucked out for themselves 6-18 months ago because they needed some of the aesthetics from le dark academia and they needed some intellectual reason as to why they, in their early twenties, are not getting any pussy.
You'll say projection, and that's fine, I don't care, I call it as I see it, and while it doesn't necessarily apply to all self-professed trad-caths here, it does transparently apply to a large group of them.

This one is it for me. This has been Christianity 101 ever since Paul took to it to re-invent Christianity. It’s honestly one of the major reasons I turned away from seriously studying and practicing religion, because this sort of vehement spite reeks of ressentiment and is completely embedded in the tradition.

I don’t disagree but there has to be a different way to discuss the larping problem without criticizing it for its “plucked” nature. Basically no Westerners and especially those on 4channel on a saturday night were actually raised in any sense of a strong religious tradition. This is something tradcath types bring up constantly when battling neopagans (people trying to reconstruct mostly dead religions ex-nihilo usually for political or aesthetic reasons) so they are acutely aware of the larp problem and are projecting. The issue is, how can any first world person NOT be larping in our religious practice as none of us were raised religious. That said, the idea that religions are conferred legitimacy by people being indoctrinated into them since birth is a bit unfair I think i.e. we shouldn’t be attacking people on the grounds that “you chose to be religious at 25 and weren’t indoctrinated into it therefore you can’t really believe”. That just means that real belief can only be resultant from brainwashing basically

I don't understand why Nietzsche chimped out over Parsifal when Tanhauser was already his second major work.
