My mother, father, older sister, two grandmothers (did not know my grandfathers), The Bible Abraham, The Bible Jacob, Benjamin Franklin, & Jesus Christ. I don't know what any of these people look like or their writings other than my father and Benjamin Franklin, so I will post this motivational image instead.

How does one get into Hölderlin? I genuinely can't read his poetry because it all feels exhausting to read. The form, I mean. It feels like free verse at times but it obviously isn't - I just cannot get a hold of the meter. I understand the words that he is saying, and enjoy them generally, but the form of his poetry has always escaped me - and struggling to find the meter while reading him distracts me from paying attention to the content of his poetry.

OP didn't mention it must be restricted to philosophy and literature.
