I'm 35 and haven't been in one since I was 19. I just buy the books I want to read, but I registered today to get access to some older books. I was surprised to see the amount of people there.

I lost mine when it fell off my key ring, so now I use my driver's license because you can use that in lieu of your library card in my state.

Nowadays so many American libraries are offering free e-library cards internationally that I haven't even felt the need to pirate a book in 4 months. Of course there are certain books that are more niche and will be harder to find but the New York library has something like 650k books and you'll be able to find a lot of stuff you'd want to read. I have e cards from 8 different libraries on libby.

btw when I mean internationally what I actually mean is that you have to use a vpn and input a fake address to create it but it is simple as that.
