why the fuck is my brain like this
i can remember stepping on a lego when i was 5 years old but can't remember the details of the book i just read?

Your brain doesnt consider it important information so it doesnt integrate it. If you write notes about the book or even just think or talk about it while or shortly after reading it then your brain will probably decide the information matters.

It's almost as if fiction is a waste of time and you learn nothing from it.

take adderall
write a personal book review/summary when done
do not take adderall while writing a book review; limit yourself to a page or equivalent

I dont understand fiction books at all
it feels like netflix shit
why does something suddenly become respectable just because its old?
most if not all of the classics are just the equivalent of some new york times best seller for assholes

Very based. This is a redpill /lit/ will never admit though.

you have no idea how terrible the average new york times bestseller is

im not trying to be an obnoxious non fiction only guy. its just been a long time since i could finish a book. i usually lose interest quickly. i couldnt even last one page of a tolstoy book. dont remember which one. and its really not an adhd thing. i just cant really care. it feels hollow to me. or like im at the end of a long tunnel. its something ive felt more and more as i get old. i cant bring myself to give a shit about tv or movies for similar reasons. maybe allegory is just dumb to me. i dont know. the last book i enjoyed reading enough to finish was homage to catalonia
its not that i dont care about or dont respect prose or poetry. it really isnt. and i understand people say there are deeper themes and you can analyze the fiction for that but why bother? it feels like im hearing about the deeper themes of fucking majoras mask or some shit. to me on my end of the tunnel it all just seems blunt

Well yes. You're purposefully conflating the word 'classic' with the meaning of old. Rather than be a generalizing nobody. Name 10 examples and give a little bit of information on how you feel like it does not 'deserve' to be considered 'classic'

because it evokes emotions that I can never feel in the real world, that no other medium could provide me. it's like a mantra, seeing all this psychedelic pictures. and besides it is not at all unrelated to the real world. you can learn from fiction as much as from scientific textbooks. you just seem to have anhedonia. I've had it too but I cured it with LSD. I still have it sometimes but I also have periods of inspirations

No you are wrong here and I sense an edge to your tone that I will not rise to if you choose to quit subtlety.

I have never found this. Please do not diagnose internet strangers.
