Same here. About 3/4 done of the first novel. Shit starting to get real. More on topic though, what's The Hunger Games about? I've heard it briefly mentioned here and there but haven't had the time about me to do any looking into it.

It's such a masterpiece. I can't believe William Golding and Kōshun Takami ripped it off. I mean like we can't see through Lord of the Flies and Battle Royale as cheap inferior rip offs of this unique original concept.

Serious view here: It's decent, at best. I found myself enjoying the basic story, but there were times when it got a little too "YA Ooh that boy is so dreamy I'll describe him taking off his shirt in four paragraphs" at times. Basically it was good when it wasn't trying to pander.

It had some good parts but it was HIGHLY overrated. The actual games were SO boring. Maybe I'm just used to battle royales with intellgence and cleverness.

Also, the characters sucked. I liked that little girl but she stll was badly characterized.

Still, it was decent but not 'holy fuck so good'
