Somebody Up There Likes Me by Rocky Graziano and some ghost writer

The boxing parts were pretty good but I really enjoyed the parts where he was a teenaged hoodlum robbing people, getting sent to juvie and eventually military prison when he wound up getting drafted and punched an officer.
Then he gets into boxing, turns his life around and eventually wins the middleweight championship.
That wasn’t as fun as the criminal parts though.
Tough to find cheap though because it’s out of print

This is about the grimier, low pay, no future side of being a not so good boxer. Depressing but probably very true.

This was an interesting read.
Some interviews and some profiles of deceased managers of great fighters.
They had interviews with Angelo Dundee who was corner man for Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Leonard. They had a profile of Joe Louis’s corner man who died before the book was written. Ray Arcel (Roberto Furan’s corner man) was one of the funnier ones.

please read pic related and make a thread about it. It's on my "list" but let's be honest I have 500 books on my list and the boxing ones are pretty low but I would happily read a random 4channers take on it. Culkin's videos on YT are original https://youtu.be/unuTEgBEe84

his account of experiencing the Weimar years in Berlin as a young man is reason enough to read.
I devoured this book. I don't box, but the man lived a fascinating life and he recounts it quite circumspectly

Might not really be what you're looking for at all, but I've heard great things about this.
I'd love a good book about Sugar Ray Robinson, by far my favorite boxer of all time.

By the way, what's everyone's favorite old time boxer?
