The future is absolutely terrifiying. AI is already capable of drawing, writing, voicing. It's only a matter of time until bots start writing masterpieces of literature, music and art in general becomes the domain of this artificial Frankenstein. We are completely and utterly doomed. We saw how quickly computers surpassed us in arithmetic and complex calculations, we thought thats where they're potential would be directed to. But now, the genuinely bone-chilling realization is setting in, that computers aren't better just at computing numbers. They're better at everything. With enough time, humanity will be left in the dust and we will marvel and behold at our electronic superiors with complete reverence. Moby Dick will look like a fucking joke to the stuff X8-9000 is going to come up with. The Divine Comedy will pale in comparison to WORDOTRON's "Mist in Reno". Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn, Tchaikovsky, Schubert...mere footnotes in musical history, by the year 2391 AD we will have a seemingly infinite repertoire of AI authored symphonies that move the soul in ways impossible to comprehend. What were we thinking...we are puny, pathetic, meager creatures who have created Gods that will at best serve as benign, yet superior beings to us all. I hope they just kill us all so we don't have to live with this utter shame.

The future must be so terrifying if you're like OP and gave zero formal knowledge of mathematics and computer science and you take all media reports at face value

Let's be honest OP doesn't even have an education in literature and likely didn't start with the greeks

Maybe instead of being mad about shit that doesn't matter you should educate yourself on any of the things you go into hysterics over.

As an engineer I could argue that the most recent efforts of AI to recreate art like painting has been dull and simple. Has it been able to recreate the paintings of Davinci or Velasquez? the answer is no.
And I would even argue that AI doesnt have the skills to recreate authentic poetry or good writing.

I'm sure the same was said in the early stages of computers
>pfff they can barely do 10th grade math
And yet...all it takes is a few years, and it snowballs out of control. Early computers couldn't beat chess masters and then Deep Blue came into existence. It's only a matter of time.

I know. I'm actually fucking terrified as well. It's a break future. And even if you somehow manage to create good art in whatever medium, the AI monster will just absorb it because there are no laws regarding that. It's a downhill battle. It's fucking over.

bleak future*
An AI wouldn't have made that mistake :(

You realize computers still can't really do math right. That's why I told you to educate yourself.

AI is, from what I've seen, terrible at writing. But I'll be damned if it isn't great at the visual arts already. Still, AI will replace coders and mid-level office workers/analysts far before it replaces artists.

Even though you mention this. Your opinion is quite ordinary.

AI can already mimic faces and voices almost perfectly. Those voice deepfake threads on /v/ are concerning.

We will have to initiate the Butlerian Jihad.

Art was never meant for mass consumption anyways. It should be a dialogue and a conversation. AI is still a statistically predictive model, so it wont be able to add new insights into, for example, artistic or literary movements.
>but i dont want to experiment with form, i want to rehash the same stories over and over again
Life will never be like that again. AI is the new artistic form and here people are bemoaning the death of theater in the golden age of television. Pathetic. You should be ashamed to call yourselves artists.

It would be a utopia, faggot.
>live with this utter shame
We don't have free will anyway so who cares.
