Do you also use .. instead of ...?

no, because that's objectively wrong

It's just wrong. It's like asking people if they also spell cat with a k.

At first I didn’t like it and also just considered it wrong, but I’ve grown to appreciate the use of it (and the interpunct) in the poetry of Stefan George.

The ellipsis is such a well-establish punctuation convention, I don't understand the need for a two-dot version. What does it signify that's different to the three-dot version?

... Drags on too long for me. Takes focus away from the words.

I assume an ellipsis is three dots/periods because two looks too much like a typo. There's not really any ambiguity about it. It's very clearly intentional.

The fourth dot, precariously balanced on the other dots, adds an element of unresolved tension.
.::. is more harmoniuos, but it take longer to type.
