Have you ever lost a friend, /lit/? Any books for this feel or how to come to terms with it?

Yea, all of them, they're all just metaphorically dead to me though. Would it help you to know true friendship cannot actually exist in the postmodern hellscape we've chipped our traditional culture down to? Would that help put things into perspective?

YES.

IT IS A MATTER OF ATTITUDE: ACCEPT THE FACT THAT EVERYONE, REGARDLESS OF BONDS, AND AFFECTIONS, EVENTUALLY DRIFTS APART; MOVE ON.

A little, if only because of company.
Even if that's true, that's a frighteningly cold way to look at life.

Your opinion/experience differs?

It does, at least for now.

If you've ever had a friend at any point of your life, it's nothing you haven't experienced. I'd just like a book rec please.

The Things They Carried by Tim O' Brien

It's about young soldiers dying in war and how the author deals with guilt and loss. He tries to makes sense of what happened and keeps them alive through the stories he writes, which is the book basically. One of the best books I've ever read.

I've lost many people in my life. You have to make time to grieve the loss, write poetry, seek answers in religion, etc. (At least what I did) The void won't leave you alone until you enter the black hole of sorrow and let your grief wash you clean.

Yes, but only due to spatial, and temporal, distance, and never due to conflict; I have always been the reuniter in this respect.
