The “A Child Called It” books.
Most autobiographical stuff is at best exaggerated or has lies of omission to frame things a certain way.

It's funny how much of a 2006 moment that whole controversy was. If something similar happened today, he'd call Oprah a cunt in that interview where she dommed him, tell people to follow him on Twitter and start selling Troop Coffee or something.

Biggest plagiarist I can think of is the deaf Japanese sound engineer/composer who worked for on Resident Evil, all of his work was written by a ghost writer.

Carlos Casteneda and his experiences with some mystic Indian dude. Guy got an anthropology degree as well as worldwide success based on made up ramblings lol
They're still a very entertaining read.

Dude there's video. Yes, her handler helped her a lot. But there's video of her communicating, being pretty self sufficient, talking, etc. I read her book and it wasn't particularly ambitious, so yeah, she can dictate a simple short memoir

>Carlos Casteneda and his experiences with some mystic Indian dude.
I don't know if he's much known outside of France but Alain Danielou was for decades the chief of French indolarpers. His work is generally rejected by indianists but he had large popular following.
It was revealed his initiations in India were in part fake. Svami Karpatri, important guru in the Sankara school, who Danielou claim to know hinduism from, wrote essays completely opposed to Danielou and didn't think highly of him.
