What are some books they truly filtered you, that you couldn't get your head around?

Thoughts on Machiavelli. I can't tell if Strauss is a babbling kike or simply too smart for me.

Oxen of the Sun in Ulysses. I just did not care about it anymore to sit through that shtick. I started reading it on Bloomsday 2016. I got to Oxen of the Sun a week or two later. I have not returned. I never will.

To be honest, I would say the Bible in that it seems contradictory and not to mention, the main protagonist is a Gary sue.

the whole point of Christ being both man and God is that God has written himself into the story as a man. It's a literal self-insert.

Had a tough time with The Order of Things by Foucualt and then I thought why not do the exact same thing but even more impenetrable? (pic attached)

There was that one crappy YA book about American youth and succubi, with a sexy redhead on the cover. The writing was atrocious. I never finished In the Search of Lost Time; I dropped it, or rather, haven't picked it up again after finishing the third book; it just wasn't that interesting. I think I've only read the poem part of the Pale Fire. I tend to finish the books I start.
>>21554038
Also Ulysses, although I think I dropped it earlier than you. I guess I just can't tolerate changes to the more traditional structure of a novel or an epic.
