Dead children.

Buddhism does more easily translate to a secular philosophy than other religions

Only through the lenses of Westerners without enlightenment.

Das rite Buddhism is Godless pagan sorcery.

If you know nothing about it nor physicalism, yes, it would appear that way.

I dunno, anon.
Then logic of plenty of religious practices translates fine to real life.
>if I suck up to this powerful dude he will help me out or give me stuff
The only issue is deciding for yourself what constitutes a sufficiently powerful dude to suck up to and the process by which you might do it.

Yeah but I think buddhism has a more self-justified set of ideals rather than more arbitrary codes

yea.

It's not any more arbitrary than Christianity. Don't murder, don't steal, don't dishonor your parents, don't cheat on your wife, etc. Not exactly arbitrary.

There's also things like don't tattoo, don't wear mixed fabrics, don't eat pork. People just ignore the arbitrary ones

>don't eat pork
That was for the Israelites. Buddhism advocates vegetarianism.

>> No.21552725

>>21552673
Buddha died from eating pork, so the restriction does have a little justification.

buddhism is a cult and the budda never cared for lay people. no creation myth, no rule and no punishment for normies=not a religion

Buddhism isn't necessarily an arbitrary system of moral commands. Buddhism isn't necessarily not an arbitrary system of moral commands. Buddhism is non-dualist like that, except when it isn't.

The core statements of buddhism resolve to issues around ontology and consciousness, and the difficulty of perceiving these in a world where consciousness experiences dukkha due to attachment to desire. So if making rich cunt's boy children fat by feeding them taxrice in an institutional arrangement that results in moral threats against peasants if they fail their temple tax obligations, but the boy kids get taught and transmit understandings of the "stickiness" of "a being's" "gaze" at the world of "phenomenal apparitions;" or that "subjects" will engage in "enjoiment" despite the apparent negative consequences thereof (to use western words), then sure that's buddhism. And we should shoot the priests into ditches.

You're talking about post "Council" of Jerusalem Christianity. Prior to Saul begging James for the right to eat pork, Greeks had to become righteous gentiles. The gentiles Jesus preaches to were all Righteous. Consider the Centurion for example.

Learn your fucking church history.

No. Go read some actual Buddhist texts, like the Digha Nikaya or Dhammapada.

Go read Heidegger until you understand what words mean in English. Because the only other credible version of this is that you need to be shot into a ditch. Tell me about hell.

This thread just confirms my suspicion that white people absolute ruin everything they touch, including Buddhism.
