I'm enjoying it so far. There are a lot of characters to keep track of which can make it a little more difficult to read. I like reading about the time period though, and feel drawn to the personal struggles they went through

Just finished Absalom, Absalom!, now reading los Enamoramientos, next Alte Meister

Currently reading LOTR trilogy after putting it off for so long, just finished the two towers last night. Very entertaining read, the end of book two when Frodo Sam and Smeagol traveled into Shelob's lair had me on the edge of my seat. Also turns out some aspects of the movie I didn't like were never part of the books so that only adds to my enjoyment.

Used to browse /lit/ when I was 18 and be bewildered how there was another perspective when it came to literature. My perspective at the time was a square, now I’m learning how to see the cube, and hopefully work my way up to the kaleidoscope of geometry you lovely schizos make literature sound. I’m 25 now, cracking down on getting into literature. Currently on the “How to Read Scientific Works” chapter. Didn’t know what I was in for, but feels like AP English+
>Starting just now? NGMI!
I don’t wish to make “it”, I yearn to see how far I can get. This book is a excellent guide and constantly recommend to ignorant people.

About halfway through Benito Cereno
After that it’s Bartleby then I’m done.
(I read the lesser known stuff first and saved Benito and Bartleby for dessert)

The Odyssey, Lattimore translation.
I'm enjoying it but it doesn't grab me. Same goes for most ancient Greek stuff I've read. I need to get into the swing of it all over again whenever I open it back up.
