Definitely a based character but a victim of Tolkien’s Christianity. The gods were like “uhh no you can’t go on a crusade without the blessing of Jesus Ch-oops I mean Eru” because Tolkien is obsessed with human fallibility and weakness as part of his Christian convictions. Yes I know Feanor is not human but it’s the same shit. Only when you grovel before us will we help you, Feanor was defiant until the end though meaning he was almost a Satanic character. The gods DID have some good points about his pride being too extreme but overall I see him as a pretty tragic and still based

He became extremely paranoid of basically everyone once he wrought the silmarils and was shitty to Fingolfin for no other reason than "your mom isn't my mom and you want my dank bling". I'd say he was fairly realistically characterized as someone who was overpowered by the hubris of being one of the most talented beings ever.
