Take Conspiracy Against the Human Race, for example. I have yet to find a single convincing argument against it, only obstinate refusal to even entertain the concept. I don’t want to accept pessimism, but it makes too much sense for me to ignore.

I will never take it seriously unless the person making the claims kills himself instead of profiting from their little sad boy books.

With the proper frame of mind.
Death comes and you’re sad about that or that the journey has bumps and interesting challenges. You’re being a big quivering nutsack.
What do you have to say for yourself OP?

Again, it’s just Ligotti argues. You can only cope, ignore, and refuse to acknowledge the negative aspects of your existence. This isn’t helping.

My understanding is that optimists are not actually disagreeing with pessimists about how things are, they just choose to have a more joyous way of looking at the same exact thing. For example, as the pessimist would 'see the cup half empty', and the optimists see it half full, they are not arguing about the amount of water. It is simply fact that the optimist is happier while the pessimist is thirsty. There is no logical reason to be a pessimist over an optimist in terms of bettering your own life.

I am not ignoring or refusing anything. Yes, there are negative aspects to life, and a lot of my life sucks. Yet, somehow, I am still having a good time. What now? It's not like there's some rational explanation that I have come up with to rationalise and cope away my suffering. I am just not really suffering all that much. Life's actually pretty nice, and I am going to try to make it nicer. If things end up going bad, well, what can you do? That's life for you. We are human beings, we are not omnipotent and we can't control everything. All the sages of every culture have always stressed that human life is not that important as to be worth fretting over anyway.

YEAH. That’s the point. We are able to take in a breath of air and not be stung buy the sensation, but rather invigorated, inspired to take on the day, to enjoy this rare wonderful gift

Because pessimistic claims can't be demonstrated to be universal in any meaningful capacity. Once you recognize that pessimists don't have any greater foothold on the true nature of things than do zealous optimists, you'll realize you're just dealing with a whole lot of fucking cope.

Easy, if life's shit why waste time being morose? Whereas if it's not and you're morose then you're the one making ti shit.

Take the nay-sayer trolls on 4chan. We know they're 60 seconds away from suicide, when they try to troll a young mind or a fresh idea into shame, it's a pity they don't kill themselves but in their case they're the ones making life shit with a sense of zeal.

There is also nothing as universal to life as the existence of pleasure, laughter, love, etc. Neither of these poles of emotional valence properly characterize the complex, moment-to-moment phenomenological experience of living. Just because the horizon of being is non-existence and this notion itself is terrifying, doesn’t mean this terror can be justifiably extended across the temporality of human experience. There is no emotional “ground” of experience since every moment happens necessarily. There are good days and bad days, suffering and pleasure. Just because the existence of death presents itself as an unwinnable “game” doesn’t mean this presence is felt at all moments. Dreading about death is not coming to terms with “reality” because death is not “real” until it arrives.

It’s also silly to think that everybody has the same capacity and opportunity to experience all those things. It all comes down to the luck of the draw.
