It’s what people indefinitely trapped in the anal stage (sic. philosophers) do. Playing with their own shit, learning to distinguish the me from the not-me, while everyone else has already been potty trained and doesn’t even have to think twice about pooping in a toilet like a normal person instead of in their hands.

You aren't trying to understand the world, you are trying to make the world how you want it to be, ever heard of idealism? Plato did the same thing.

you where right until this point. you immediately reduced its scope to a narrower lens. there should have been a period where your comma was and left the outcome of the endeavor where it belongs: as a manifestation of whatever school of philosophy you take.

it’s funny that you say ‘idealist’, since a realist, in the philosophic sense, is precisely the definition of an idealist in the vernacular, somebody whom believes in the reality of abstract objects, of universals. Plato wasn't an idealist (in the vernacular sense) though, for Plato The Form of The Good is the categorical foundation of everything, in this way he was much more of a pragmatist, believing in a transcendental harmony that the structure of society and the growth of the individual could reflect and that could be deduced through geometry.

>not caring how the world works, but how it should work.
There is no separation between these two things. "How the world ought to work" is not some magical ontological realm which only the human mind invents or has access to, it is a fundamental ontological principle which exists in reality. An idealist would be the exact opposite of Plato, someone who thinks the human mind is special, or who believes in unfounded ideals on a whim.
