For too long have I joined in the memes that HPB is a hack, without actually reading her. For too long have I made assumptions about HPB without verifying them for myself. I say to you, I have been reading Isis Unveiled and The Secret Doctrine, and both are surprisingly good. She's a great writer at least.

Interesting. I was kind of intrigued to read her when I found out that Isis Unveiled's referenced quite a few times in Finnegans Wake. And I suppose she might be useful for some of Yeats. But it's difficult to motivate myself to read her without being massively into the occult.
