Flashman fought on all four sides of the ACW IIRC. People usually forget his work with CSA aligned indians and the black revolutionary underground. But what they shouldn't forget is his role in racist anti-conscription Irish violence in the north. Because it isn't just edifying at the level of the dereduction of the social totality into its constitutive narratives of power, but it is a more classic radio rock feel that the ordinary reader can appreciate.

Take a look at Jeff Shaara. He writes fiction war books. There are 7 Civil War books including one by his father.

The first trilogy:
The Killer Angels - Michael Shaara
Gods and Generals
The Last Full Measure

Then a 4 book series:
A Blaze of Glory
A Chain of Thunder
The Smoke at Dawn
The Fateful Lightning

Aren't negroes just weed-addicted welfare slaves now? That's what the North created, a different form of slavery" to "but come on, slavery still bad" to "true but all the Fathers knew the negro problem was huge, none of them wanted slavery or were happy blacks were in America, maybe the South was just biding its time with a yellowstone-tier volcano of a revolutionary social issue, like the tsars delaying liberating the serfs even though they wanted to" to "THIRTY FUCKING PERCENT OF THE POPULATION WAS ENSLAVED?" to "technically the Confederacy was legally in the right, the South Carolina constitutional crises over secession were not handled well by the Union" to "THIRTY PERCENT?" to "that goddamn negro almost hit me with his beater car, I wish I was in Dixie" to "That lovely negro was so nice to me at the farmers' market, I should stop being so racist, slavery is wrong" to "oh look, a hysterical liberal on the internet, I'd better defend the Confederacy to annoy him"

>Salomon de Rothschild writes from America to his family that they should support the south as much as they can, and that if America was split up the two powers would be easier to dominate, as well as being a great economic benefit to Europe.
>House's father does business with "English Bankers" that "Do not want to be named" to fund the confederacy.
>Colonel House works with banking Jews to create the Federal Reserve under Woodrow Wilson's presidency. As well as reducing tariffs so America can be looted by international Jews.
>House wants the US to get involved in WW1 so badly that during the morning, while he is meeting with King George at Buckingham Palace, he says "Suppose they (Germans) should sink the Lusitania with American Passengers on board..." Later that afternoon, the Lusitania was sunk; Coincidence of course.

>"The central theme of this book is that the Northern majority used unconstitutional, illegal, and immoral methods to change the Original Constitutional Republic of Sovereign States into a centralized, supreme, federal government that is now (2020) controlled by an evil leftist shadow government."

>"Through aggressive war and post-war unconstitutional political acts, the Yankee Empire changed the nature of the government from a voluntary compact among sovereign states to an empire established by the Northern majority via the conquest of the numerical minority of the South."

>"After Reconstruction the South accepted its secondary place in the newly created Yankee Empire in exchange for nominal control of the puppet governments foisted upon the Southern States and agreed not to secede from the newly created "indivisible" nation. The Yankee Empire broke the bargain! The South is no longer "patriotically" required to remain loyal to the Yankee Empire...."

>"If Southerners continue to remain pacified subjects of a supreme federal government that is actively engaged in anti-South, cultural genocide, then the South will turn into another Detroit, Chicago, Zimbabwe or Venezuela...."

>"This book is a call to action to all people who love liberty and truth."

>"If the ruling elites in Washington reject the demands of the people for a government more respectful of our rights, then it will be faced with the prospect of the Southern people-as well as people in conservative "red counties" across America following the lead of Lithuania (1990) and England via Brexit (2016) as we demand the right of self-determination."

>I saw in State Rights the only availing check upon the absolutism of the sovereign will, and secession filled me with hope, not as the destruction but as the redemption of Democracy. The institutions of your Republic have not exercised on the old world the salutary and liberating influence which ought to have belonged to them, by reason of those defects and abuses of principle which the Confederate Constitution was expressly and wisely calculated to remedy. I believed that the example of that great Reform would have blessed all the races of mankind by establishing true freedom purged of the native dangers and disorders of Republics. Therefore I deemed that you were fighting the battles of our liberty, our progress, and our civilization; and I mourn for the stake which was lost at Richmond more deeply than I rejoice over that which was saved at Waterloo.

God, I hate this image. Why is she in the countryside? Why are there hills? This doesn't even look like the Netherlands, let alone Amsterdam. If you truly want your Confederate self-insert to impregnate Anne Frank that's fine but I don't believe there's earnest passion behind this if the author can't be bothered to do basic research

I rarely say this buzzword meme phrase, but nice cope. Those restrictions were part and parcel of the metapolitical framing of the war. "All's fair in love and war" is a phrase for a reason. So is "war is politics by other means," and so is its inverse. This isn't 1685, we aren't fighting cabinet wars. All 20th century war is assymmetrical and self-consciously so. Vietnam played the possibilities of its situation perfectly and won at the strategic level fair and square.

It's no surprise that minor nations like Vietnam can't compete with industrial juggernauts like the Cold War era USA, one of the two remaining superpowers and geopolitical hegemons on the planet. For the USA to say "we only lost because we couldn't drop our thousands of nukes on every single rice farmer, because then international opinion would have turned on us and our tactical victory in Vietnam would have been geostrategically pyrrhic!!" is pathetic. Vietnam fought an incredible war using every single means at its disposal and proved that the pawns can outmaneuver the queens on the board of realpolitik. Vietnam's victory was so incredible that it's philosophically significant, it's a modern Thermopylae, Marathon, or Salamis. Who cares that the Persians burnt Athens? Does anyone even remember that? No, they remember Thermopylae, Marathon, and Salamis.

To say "we only lost because we couldn't disregard all metapolitical factors!! if we could have done total mobilization and destroyed our geopolitical hegemonic position and caused revolution on the home front, we could have had more tanks than you!! you had a worse K:D ratio!!!" is childish and shows a lack of understanding of war. War is the ultimate anti-cope arena, all copes go directly in the trash. Victory is victory. Vietnam won.

you clowns are ridiculous if the USA had bombed viet nam back to the stone age the war would have been "won" militariliy but lost politically
