Got a Kindle as a Christmas gift and it's pretty cool so far.
Don't really have the habit of reading that often though, and I'm esl, so I was wondering if you guys would have any reccs for some light and simple literature to ease me into the whole thing.
...preferably not children's literature please. I'd appreciate something with at least a bit of substance.

I'd recommend horror short stories - accessible but substantial, enjoyable and immersive, overall a good introduction to literary prose while retaining the genre fun. They're written to be read in a single session, ideal for a beginner.
Look up the best short stories by Poe, Lovecraft, Barker etc.

That should be interesting. When I was younger I've always thought books couldn't be possibly be scary. Frankly I still think that, but maybe I'll change my opinion soon.
So, from the authors mentioned I did a basic search and just based on the names decided to give the following a try
>The Facts in the Case of M. Valdemar
>Mesmeric Revelation
>The Premature Burial
>The Black Cat
>The Call of Cthulhu
>Beyond the Wall of Sleep

Added to the list.
I don't want to hoard too many books and end up not reading any of them so I'll start these asap. Thank you anons!
