Star Wars book thread, anyone?

Just picked up a copy of this but I haven't started it yet. Felt an obligation to read the first EU novel ever written. Apparently it features a lot of sexual tension between Luke and Leia because it was written before the reveal that they were siblings.

I forgot the name of it but when I was a kid, I read some 6book series (I think it may have expanded further but I stopped reading after the first six) about two kids that travel with their uncle(?) and I believe "Fear" was in the title. It was Star Wars related. They ran into Darth Vader at the sixth book. It was oddly creepy in some bits.

I liked some of the comics, but I had to use my imagination to improve them in my head. I was never 100% satisfied with anyone's interpretation of the SW EU. Still I think Lucas should green-light other directors for future one-offs.
