We back. Next year we must also have Gaddis beat his knockoff: Tomas Chinchong.

i didn't even vote but i love the recognitions and feel it gets too little credit beyond the walls of this insane asylum. i'm probably going to read this again here in a few weeks. so here's your response. otto is a true pleb

This is likely my next read. Bought it and JR when they first got the rerelease but really got into short books for a good while there. Reading Freedom brought back my love of doorstoppers and my biggest complaint about it is that it was not long enough. Debating between The Recognitions, The Cairo Trilogy, The Obscene Bird of Night and The USA Trilogy for my next read. The Obscene Bird of Night has my current interests the most but I really do want something longer so who knows. Love the way long books become a part of your life.

Alright OP, you got me. I voted 5 times for The Recognitions but it was for a good reason. What was the reason? I don't know. Do with this information what you must but take in count that it wasn't my intention to mess with your list. No, i'm not a troll, just an Gaddis enthusiast and technically TR is a christmas book!

I love Gaddis but I aint voting on some gay poll

Dropped The Recognitions after 200 pages desu. The scenes of Wyatt's childhood were pretty good but the rest of it was like a pretentious version of The Fountainhead.

ive never met anyone in a book i have related to more lul, i also like how the very first sentence Otto is introduced in gives the gist of his issues (when he looks in the mirror at the bar): money, appearances, and his father
