Merry Christmas /lit/,

I have a terrible habit of starting books and never getting back to them. I have a stack next to my bed and I want /lit/ to tell me which one I should try to finish.

>The Three Musketeers 295/555
>Simulacra and Simulation 80/164
>American Gods 28/529
>The Pale King 214/540
>Moby Dick 126/589
>Dream Psychology 94/207
>The Nonsense Factory 334/687

I also have a huge shelf of books to read but never got around to. Most of them /lit/ memes or other various neat things.

The shortest is not the easiest and the easiest is not the shortest. This is partly why I asked for /lit/'s help. But also I wanted to talk about books and the whole partly read phenomenon. Have you read any of the books on this list? What did you think of them?

Read one book at a time, a set amount of time per day

But what book? How do you stick to just one book? There are literally at least dozens of books out there.

Honestly, some of these are really hard books to read through in one go, especially if you don't read difficult stuff cover-to-cover often. So that's why this is occurring, you aren't used to it and you aren't maintaining interest in one book. As you start to make a routine of reading only one or two books at a time in consistent periods you'll begin to break this habit.

I would say finish three musketeers because you are already more than halfway done with it.

Started IJ last week, I'm 700 pages in. Light shudder reading the part where Pemulis' brother is recalling his Pa's s3xual abuse towards him but then he drops that hes appreciative that atleast he used lube.

pick a short and easy one not on the list and read that. actually, do so with about half a dozen books. make sure they're very entertaining and super easy and rewarding, so you get that particular effect.
basically do what people here have recommended but do so with extremely simple books.
