Wht did Mizoguchi's dad allow his son's mom to get fucked by her cousine while they were pretend sleeping?

He was very sick and essentially powerless in that moment. Powerlessness is pretty much a reoccurring theme, Mizoguchi also thought of the superior and the other acolytes as powerless

The Schrader movie is bollocks. Especially the part about Runaway Horses. Last I saw it that is, maybe my opinion now would be different.

Mizoguchi does seem to be quite unfortunate no? All the men in his life were weak, his friends were fakes and the women he interacted were deranged used goods. In fact the only ones who seemed even half decent were the prostitute who took his virginity and that thundering priest he met at the very end.

He really was a tragic character, i genuinely feel bad for him. He did have one genuine friend, tsurukawa seemed genuinely looking after Mizoguchi before tsurukawa's untimely death
Perhaps if he could've had a better father figure or at least if tsurukawa remained in his life then perhaps he could've been ok
