21404625 No.21404625 [Reply] [Original]

we're back, thank you for your patience.
i'm surprised i didn't have to create a second thread sooner.

>how does this work?
nominations must be submitted through the google form (the first link).
you can nominate up to five books, nominations must be written in the format of "Author - Title".
responses will be collected in the spreadsheet (the second link), which updates automatically.
submissions will close on december 22, with follow-up tiebreaker threads being created soon after if necessary.

>what are the rules?
you cannot nominate the same book twice in your submission, only your first nomination will be counted.
literature of all genres and types are allowed, however your nomination must be a legitimate book which has been published and can be read.
"complete works" collections (Plato Complete Works, The Complete Works of Shakespeare, etc.) will count as a vote for most nominated work by that author. in the event that an author's "complete works" collection has more votes than any individual work, the collection will appear on the chart instead.
nominations which break these rules will be omitted and will not be counted.

>enough talk, give me the links

there is a difficulty in gauging the legitimacy of these submissions in particular, as the spammer intentionally posted "legitimate" submissions in-between his shitposting (this is suggested in line 658, where he wrote "Which ones are the impostor?").
as a result, i'm very unsure of how to filter and manage lines 196 through 715.
i could invalidate all submissions between this period, but that would be very horrible and unfair to those who posted legitimate submissions in that time.

8) Blood meridian - 25 legit votes (should be 26; 1 shaved off)

my reason for this is that these submissions all nominate only three works, and they're all back-to-back. more importantly, they nominate works which had been spammed individually, such as Blood Meridian, Moby-Dick, and War and Peace.
