We are talking about the rest of my dead life. I can't trust a source that says the world was created in "7 days". Even this minor thing is beyond insane. Does the Bible mean 7 times 24 hours (in current year hours)? When the Bible was written, there was no fucking clock at all.

That's the whole point. The reason why I don't care about the Bible is simply that it's not written good enough to be "evidence" in the case of "how to get to heaven".

EVERY SINGLE WORD is important beyond believe. Not only are words by linguistic design flawed, it's beyond batshit retarded to "follow" a book that is written in words where one mistake means hell, simply because you misunderstood something.

This is the whole point why the Bible is not even worth as paper weight, because the moment you misunderstand something, it could maybe mean hell for you.
Also the Bible was translated. What if the translation is flawed? What if you need cultural context to understand the Bible.

So yeah. The Bible is useless for serious religious help and is at best an artifact of the past.

A lot of the time they hate what they perceive as Christians. Ignoring their own story in all of this. This is what I find most in threads like these. A lot of hurt people, led astray, and taught what to believe about what someone else believes. Instead of creating the framework for themselves using the tools given to them.

They point at men or sometimes nature instead of God. I find it interesting that someone will point out hypocrisy and consider this a challenge against faith. My grandfather was a UU and my grandmother, a Methodist, used to raze the hell out of him for it. Said, "oh him... he prays to 'whom it may concern'". They loved each other dearly and it was this commitment to exploring the spirit that led me to agnosticism. Which then led me to the cross. I am not sure where I'd argue for or against it after growing up in that environment. After that I could bounce around semantics or get into Arianism or something. I'm kind of really digging King James right now and feel anything external is just distraction. But I love talking about it as I started my spiritual journey with a very universalist approach.
