how do you prefer to consume books? physical, ebook, or audio? why?

I PREFER MY BOOKS IN TANGIBLE FORM, BUT I DO NOT DISLIKE THEM INTANGIBLE; AUDIO RECORDINGS ARE NOT BOOKS.

I like reading books on my kindle or have a physical copy. I can't read books on my pc. Too much distractions.

I can't read on an e-reader. Too slow and clunky, but I will sometimes read on my computer.
Otherwise usually just books.

I do love books because of their covers, the materials of the paper and so on.
But I love the ereader. It's one of my favourite pieces of technology. If it was harder to pirate ebooks I might feel differently, but it's so conducive to reading a lot and easy to take anywhere. The built in dictionary is amazing too. This year I found myself reflexively trying to touch press words on paper when I was reading a book.

I love my heckin Kindle and agree with this guy here, but strangely enough I've been buying physical books again as of lately. Some titles just aren't available digitally, or they're just on .PDF, and fuck reading .PDF on an eight inch Kindle. No way. So since my taste of books became more eccentric in recent years, buying more academic books and stuff not available in Kindle format, I simply resorted to buying physical editions again. Then that opened up my habit of buying physical books again, after like 2 solid years of not buying hardly any books. Because I was saving a lot of money; and I still do, because even now most of my reading is still piracy. I've started intermittently listening to audiobooks too, over the last year or so. Usually it's just to supplant normal Kindle-reading-with-eyes when I'm going to bed or whatever, but I'm listening (rereading) to Blood Meridian right now in its entirety on audio and it's quite the experience, after first reading it like 7 years ago. It's on YouTube and slsk fyi.
Excuse my ramble. I'm very high rn.

It depends on my covfefe.
>When I relax on a chair
A physical book
>When I'm anywhere near water, dirt, or other stuff that can ruin a book
Kindle
>When I'm on a journey or for some other reason have limited space and need flexibility
Kindle
>When I want to have my eyes closed
Audiobook on my phone

Personally I prefer physical books the most. You don't need power, they can never be erased (fire and water not included), and they just exist.
But because those few physical books I have are all pretty expensive (just compared to the digital stuff), I mostly just use my Kindle if I want to read something.

There are insane amounts of reason why Kindle is my favorite way to read, from consistent lighting, to no bullshit page flipping, and other stuff. The only bad thing about Kindle is that I sometimes just ask myself why not just an audiobook.

Yeah I find myself wanting to buy books that I really liked on ereader and as a result I found ebay and spent a decent amount of money on stuff, so I have to stop myself. Rather spend money on clothes or vitamins or something, plus I don't have that much space anyway, but I'm also partial to owning books and enjoying them as physical objects. In terms of the act of reading itself, no, if anything I might prefer the ereader.

ebook only because I can get them for free. A physical book is extremely nice though.
Audiobooks are not reading. I don't care how many "studies" there are. And the most common argument I've seen to truly enjoying them is "it's something to have on in the background". You do not have the same comprehension or retention from listening to something as you would from reading it. I despise the audiobook culture and the laziness within it. Anything to avoid actually reading for these people.
