My experience as a German has been:
Vietnamese people lead their own lives and only interact with the populace in form of fruit and veggie shops or Asia bistros. When they are involved in crime they are more often than not dealing in human trafficking and general smuggling of goods. They also seem rather liberal on returning the exact amount of change..

However, they definitely do not make a fuss and while the older generation has almost no ability to speak German the younger generation does not just speak perfect German but also does exceptionally well in the education system and is quite well integrated into general society. They are definitely on some lonesome stand-off track when interacting but in general my experience with them has been almost entirely positive.
