Best book about heroin addiction you've ever read?
H. Selby Jr's 'Requiem for a Dream' is my absolute fave, one that will always stay with me. It actually deals with many kinds of addiction and therefore it can resonate with people who aren't necessarily familiar with drugs.

Definitely not the best but Junky by Burroughs is worth a read. You also get his detailed explanation of orgones at the end too.

Thanks. This might well be my next book by Burroughs (I've only read Naked Lunch and The Red Night Trilogy so far).

One of my fetish books. I've come to think it is itself an addiction.

Christiane F./Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo was quite good.

I've only seen the movie, but I guess the book captures the atmosphere of those years better than the screen version does.

I agree that Requiem is the best. It's a great book.

For a different but very intense take, try Donald Goines, Dopefiend. Gave me the feeling (perhaps illusion) that I kind of really understood heroin addiction, almost as if I had experienced it.

Jesus’ Son by Denis Johnson. It’s not just about heroin addiction but it’s a good book.

Read Cherry by Niko Walker about a year ago. Not the greatest but its a true story about a marine who came back and got so addicted to H he started robbing banks. Dude wrote it from jail. Best ive reqd so far on the modern opioid epidemic, well not that Ive read anything else really.

No problem. Btw dont watch the movie. Made by marvel directors. Legitimately one of the worst adaptations ive ever seen
