What does /lit/ think of Hemingway?

>> No.2131955

I've only read The Old Man and the Sea, but I really enjoyed it. Anyone have suggestions where to go from there?

>> No.2131956

He's good. He's like Beckett without the fun and lots more drinking.

>> No.2131958

Only read AFTA
I really enjoyed it.

>> No.2131974

I like Hemingway. A Farewell to Arms was a nice read, but I prefer The Sun Also Rises and For Whom the Bell Tolls. I've not read The Old Man and the Sea yet.

>> No.2131983

i like the old man and the sea. Probably the best book i've ever read

>> No.2132004

Hemingway's short stories are alright. His novels are a bit meh. He's better than Fitzgerald though, self-indulgent pansy that he was.
