"Admit it! There's nothing wrong with the road!"
One of the best lines in cinematic history.
Re: your question...your villain sounds like Faust/Satan/Lucifer, thus has a long and storied tradition. I say go for it!

Wasnt one of the producers, Arnold Kopelson, a Mossad agent/handled by Mossad? It was kind of obvious the shit was agitprop when there was a neonazi skinhead caricature selling rocket launchers in downtown LA. (lmao)

If you think about it it was probably the first movie to properly capture the incel rage aesthetic.

I was just doing the repeat post meme.
It was just the 'one bad day' meme taken to the next degree with a slightly dangerous man. He's actually intelligent but he's clearly not all there. But he's also far from a bad guy, he just wants to see his kid. It's funny how the film paints him as persistently in the wrong but it's just agitprop bullshit as >>21316029
said accidentally being based. He just is a (mostly) normal white man living through the death throes of America, having everything taken from him, he has nothing left to lose. Of course he's got 'rage,' (although markedly not an incel as he has a kid and ex wife) everything of value in his life has been stripped away. His briefcase is fucking empty, it has his lunch in it and nothing else. He's just going through the motions, it's all so tiresome.

Yeah I like the idea, you should write a book where evil rich guys kidnap a family then make them rape and kill each other for their entertainment

My dad and I loved that movie. Made me fall in love with LACore, burning hot streets, exhausted civilization, the brink of sociotal collapse.

He passed last year. Might watch it again for him.

I genuinely find most of the talk about the film being centered around failing to recollect the order of events, how they played out, and what they lead to.
I guess it comparable to Moby Dick, even if the general audience get filtered by the prose so they can't talk about Moby Dick.
