I know this series is considered a bit of a laughing stock, but is anyone else actually hoping the next one brings it back? I unironically really enjoyed this first one and was really disappointed by the weird self insert coomfest that was the 2nd, but I do still want to see where the story goes.

you might have better luck reply wise posting this in the sffg thread >>21299785 but to answer your question I've lost all investment in the series at this point and am just waiting for the ending to see if they fuck it or not

So if you're colourblind are you just absolutely fucked in this world?

I'll post the same thing there, thanks. And yeah I kind of have as well but I'm just curious like you. The first book really had some interesting plot threads to me none of which were even really addressed in the second which is what made it all so disappointing on top of the absolutely bizarre coomer shit. Rothfuss kinda seems like a sack of shit too, at least the way he thinks he's some writing boss without finishing his own series without even having a TV show like grrm.

I like it, what don't you like? I think its pretty creative honestly.
>>21310712
Lol I dont remember that being a thing, I'm color blind myself. Whatre you referring to?

Fucking why? Let him make this thread, its one of the few that actually pertains to /lit/, which is rare/

I've had some decent engagement here with some of my posts in the past, I like how reddit has specific focused things sometimes but like for example this thread wouldn't mean much in the subreddit for this series since they all seem to be megafans who enjoy the 2nd book which is as close to objective trash as I can think of, and the fantasy reddit is full of sjw types. Hard to get good engagement, I think I share more opinions with people here. I'd rather some random call me a nigger than deal with the performative nonsense on reddit.

Reddit also has this really weird forced positivity thing.
Like sure saying "this book is for fags that eat other fags shit you fucking faggot" isn't exactly nuanced critique, but its honest.
On reddit if you say something negative about something popular, even if its genuine criticism, you get called a troll and told to let people enjoy things
Basically the only reason to use reddit is for r/paag

I've actually started using reddit, they at least have some decent conversation

Yeah thats what I mean, like you can't just critique shit their you have to dress it up to avoid hurting feelings. Really annoying. Also can't call someone a fag or whatever, I don't usually insult people but the overbearing moderation hurts discourse imo
