Just from the way he wrote about people he seems to me like an absolute that. There are a bunch of accusations about his conduct towards women he fucked but it was their choice and they chose him for fame, etc.

He just seems like a very juvenile person. His parents were both professors, so probably idiots too who didn't raise him right. I'm honestly glad he killed himself every time I read anything by him I want to pull my hair out it's so aggravating to me he has a fanbase.

There was a quote someone posted on here the other day where he was talking about how "if you want a literary gf who is as smart as you you should go to a mental institution near a bourgeois university (his words) and read some fashionable novel in the common area, and look for a girl with cutting scars reading something." I wish someone would find it because it sounds like I'm reacting to this being misogynistic and it's more the way he described it so pretentiously and how fake it was. He's never experienced that it was just complete bullshit. It was a really long quote, just one of many I've read by him that made me gag. He also looks like someone really unpleasant in every way. He doesn't look intelligent. I really don't think he was intelligent. His writing sucks.

Ya, I didn't set out to hate him. I was excited to read Brief Interviews but it just sucked. Half the stories were about masturbation which is sort of a post-modern perennial. They're so fascinated by what comes out of their bodies like little children and academics have been promoting this literal poo and semen art as somehow "advanced intellectual" for some reason. The book just sucked and after seeing a lot of quotes from infinite jest and how he wrote in his gaymo essays I have no interest in anything else. The footnotes shit isn't clever either.
