The best specific response to this I’ve come across so far is VALIS, for mixing the modern sci-fi quasi-schizophrenic syncretic clusterfuck New Age sense with religion and mysticism. The others are considerably more old-fashioned and traditional (except with Blake being a bit of an eccentric outlier), but still sublime.
